Pairing Oil is produced from dried Testa, the brown skin of coconut after de-shelling. Testa is the layer above white meat of the coconut and below the coconut shell. Studies conducted on the composition of testa has shown that the oil from testa(Pairing Oil) is richer in monounsaturates and polyunsaturates than other form of coconut oil. The phenolics and phytosterols content were higher in pairing oil than in other form of coconut oil.


Phenolics, there are numerous researches focused on health benefits of Phenolics, especially its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties and their ability to exert preventive activity against infectious and degenerative diseases, inflammation and allergies via antioxidant and antimicrobial properties


Phytosterols are fatty substance have similar structure like cholesterol but none of the cholesterol’s side effects, numerous studies have confirmed Phytosterols cholesterol-reducing properties. For example, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that a daily intake of 1,800-2,600 mg of plant sterols and stanols decreased total cholesterol by 10.2 percent, with LDL(“bad”) cholesterol dropping by 14.1 percent. It is widely believed that the structural similarities between sterols and cholesterol cause the two to compete for absorption in the small intestine, this lowers blood levels of LDL while leaving HDL(“good”) Cholesterol largely unaffected, resulting in greatly improved cholesterol ratios.
